January 10, 2020 at 6:00 pm presentation of the book on the exhibition "CERAMICS IN THE CENTER - MILANO MAKERS AND DESIGN CERAMICS" by Cesare Castelli and Maria Christina Hamel. MiMa Edizioni.
The exhibition brings together four collections of design ceramics (Mano and Terracotta; Ceramics, Food and Design; Together; Ceramic Authorial Jewelry) produced by Milano Makers between 2013 and 2018. This is an important path that has led to the creation of a city of ceramics network and the creation and consolidation of a relationship in creative synergy between designers and craftsmen.
Over forty ceramic design works by thirty-nine different authors will be exhibited together for the first time in a large exhibition curated by Maria Christina Hamel. These are ceramics made in the best artisan workshops in Faenza, Albissola and Laterza between 2013 and 2018.
OXLO the ceramic designed by Giorgio Caporaso and Mara Giacomelli for the TOGETHER collection curated by Maria Cristina Hamel for Milano Makers will also be on display.
The ceramics created by the designers are housed in an extraordinary space. The paintings of Twentieth Century Italian art exhibited in the Boschi Di Stefano Museum-Home create a comparison between art and design of ceramics which contributes to making this exhibition truly unique.

The Boschi Di Stefano Museum-Home at number 15, Via Giorgio Jan, has been open to the public since February 2003. In these premises – once inhabited by the married couple Antonio Boschi (1896-1988) and Marieda Di Stefano (1901-1968) – about three-hundred pieces are exhibited selected from over two thousand works, donated to the City of Milan in 1974.
The collection – which comprises paintings, sculptures and drawings – is an extraordinary testimony to the history of Twentieth Century Italian art from the first decade to the end of the Sixties.
